Description

The Germans march into Paris as Simon Renard watches from his hotel window. Ever the opportunist, Renard befriends the local minister and is given a post by his new beneficiary as administrative judge. His task is find guilt or innocence in his fellow Parisians relating to seditious activities. But as Renard soon learns, the bargain he has made carries a terrible price... "Existentialism and Death On a Paris Afternoon" speaks to the anxieties and alienation of a generation that has lost its spiritual direction and feels a deep angst that life may be meaningless. And how does one find meaning in a universe one finds meaningless? For Renard the answer is survival.
