Chelsea Raven's first apartment is perfect. It's within walking distance of her special effects makeup school, the rent fits within her very limited budget, and there’s a hot-n-hunky neighbor on the first floor. The only problem is the door to the second bedroom; it won't open no matter what she tries. Why, then, can she hear shuffling sounds and see shadows moving around inside that room?

Olympia knows exactly when she arrived in The Here. It was last week. Or maybe last month. Or ... has it been a year already? Whenever it was, she knows it's been too long and is ready to move along. She has a plan for how to get to The Next and is positive it will work, but no one will listen, let alone allow her to try.
