The river burns— and the Wraith with them!” This time, Teyla made no move to stop the Dalerans climbing the trees to witness for themselves. Indeed, she immediately pulled herself aloft and stared across the eastern fields. The sight was mesmerizing and more than satisfying. The entire eastern portion of South Channel was a blazing inferno. Lines of fiery serpents began to appear through the far fields, where the oil had flowed along irrigation channels. From this distance it was not possible to make out individuals, but she could see many smaller flames moving about, like the wicks of a hundred candles. Having stumbled into the oil, some of the Wraith had been set ablaze. The gruesome creatures had extraordinary regenerative properties, but it was doubtful if those caught in the fields of oil could survive such a sustained conflagration. The three vast columns of Wraith began to fall back. Cries of joy traveled across the treetops, and Teyla felt a measure of relief. The battle to come would not be easy, but the people of Dalera were now empowered by the sight before them. Ushat touched her arm. She took his Shield from him, and he signaled the warrior below to blow the trumpet. Reply calls from the Citadel told them that the EM fields close to North Bridge and the western end of the wall had also been disabled. Just before the roiling black smoke obscured her vision, she noticed the nearest column of Wraith headed in their direction. “They come!” cried a lookout. At the speed the Wraith were moving, the first waves would soon be upon them— far sooner than Teyla had planned.

The light flashed standby. “You will try to call them again?” He shook his head. “The battery is low. And we’ll hear them when they call us in range.” “Surely by now they are looking…”

We did not detect them in orbit and they have had three days to go anywhere they wish. I do not think there is more information we can gain on M40-P36.” John’s hands opened and closed in frustration. “We have to,” he began tiredly. “We have to find another means of intelligence,” Woolsey said. “Rodney…” “We will find Dr. McKay,” Woolsey said. “But if there’s no more information to be had this way, we need to find another way.”

"I'd rather not handle the weird Ancient device we don't understand any more than I have to. You don't have the ATA gene, so you're less likely to destroy all the Wraith in the galaxy by accident." Sam followed him up a transport chamber and several sets of stairs to the catwalks where he usually went running with Ronon. Above them, a tangled grid of struts and roof supports extended up into the shadows. "It's up there," John said. He scrambled up onto the rail of the catwalk, and then hauled himself up the jungle gym of struts and poles until he could reach the ledge where he'd stashed the weapon in between a spare Wraith stunner and a box of C4. The stunner and the C4 were both still there, still securely duct taped to the ledge. In between them, the web of duct tape had been slit neatly with a knife. "Damn it!" "What?" Sam called from the catwalk below. "The weapon's gone," John said. "Somebody got here first."

Convinced that an Ascended Elizabeth Weir saved his life, Dr. Rodney McKay argues that she must have escaped her replicator body in order to ascend. No one believes him, but when rumors reach Atlantis of a woman with no memory who calls herself 'Elizabeth', Rodney is determined to track her down. Meanwhile, Daniel's research uncovers evidence of Vanir activity in the Pegasus galaxy - evidence that casts both light and shadow over the mystery of Elizabeth... "You got a better idea?" "Try warning shots," John said. "And, yes, Rodney, I remember why that's a bad idea, but we're heading straight for the river." "I'm just saying the two things I didn't want in my day were dinosaurs and fire!" Rodney said, unslinging his own P-90 and cradling it as he ran. "They're not dinosaurs, McKay." "Birds are essentially dinosaurs, any paleontologist-" Ronon grabbed the back of Rodney's jacket, thrusting him forward faster. "Shut up and run!"
