Wilkes is alone, struggling to survive on the island once known as Great Britain, thirty-six years after the zombie apocalypse devastated the world. As the young woman makes her way along the ruined landscape, she stumbles across a backpack filled with journals written by a man she will never meet, but who will alter the course of her life nonetheless.
