A Michael Talbot Adventure A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and for Michael Talbot that step is taken at Indian Hill with his best friend Paul Ginson by his side.  Together they grow up, meet girls, and go off to college. Nineteen year old Michael Talbot was an ordinary college student when the Progerians came and forced him to fight for his life.  Now, almost two years later, he has escaped and made his way back to Earth. Michael Talbot thought he was done with the Arena. He was wrong. Handed over by those who were supposed to protect him, Mike finds himself -- once again -- aboard the Progerian ship facing the prospect of yet another death match. But all is not as it seems within the alien ranks and Paul Ginson has the Progerians' number. Before long Mike finds himself back where this story began: Indian Hill. War is no longer coming. It has arrived and things aren't going well for the hometeam. Most of the major cities have been destroyed. The armies of the world have been reduced to a shadow of their former strength. Paul's militia, designed to be a first line of defense is now Earth's last hope for a stalemate. With the help of an unexpected ally, it might just barely be enough.

It has been three years since the Progerians left their mark of devastation upon Earth. The remaining humans are in a desperate race against time as they do their best to reverse engineer the alien technology they captured, in an effort to bolster their beleaguered defenses against the oncoming onslaught of Progerians hell-bent on revenge. Revenge against the humans that thwarted their take-over and revenge against the subordinate Genogerians that helped. Michael Talbot once again finds himself at the forefront to protect all that is sacred to him. He will receive help from some unexpected allies but will it be enough?

Mike reunites with his wife and his friend, Paul, aboard the Guardian only to find that things have gone from bleak to hellish on earth. Rampaging hordes of Genogerians plague the planet, as does an invasion from Progerians hell-bent on knuckling under the will of man through their relentless assault. Yet this may not be the worst of it, as an insidious "ally" has lent their support. At what cost can a planet on the brink come back from such desperate odds?

Beth forever fanning the flames of tension and dissension has the Stryvers, the Progerians and the entire Human race on the brink of annihilation. It is up to Michael Talbot, BT, Drababan and the United Earth Marine Corps to stave off this extinction event, along with General Ginson aboard the outgunned, out manned and the nearly crippled USS Guardian. Is it too late or can it all still be saved?

In this explosive conclusion to the Indian Hill series we find Mike, Tracy, Drababan, BT and the entire crew of the now destroyed USS Guardian hurtling through space, head on into their destiny. But will it be the one they seek or the destruction of all they know and have ever known.
