She had planned to start a detective agency with partner in crime, Eleanor Mason, but a snag with the license has them free wheeling it, not that it matters because they are the ones folks call when dead bodies turn up. A frantic phone call has Agnes and Eleanor racing to the scene of yet another crime scene. Herman Butler has fallen to his death from a third story window, and the widow, Betty Lou, is besides herself with either grief or competing for the Oscars, and it’s up to Agnes and Eleanor to unravel the mystery, which gets more interesting when a ghost is listed as a possible suspect. This time around, Agnes and Sheriff Peterson can agree, the widow is nuts, but wait, a few days later the ghost ship, Erie Board of Trades, was spotted off the shores of Lake Huron. Ghost hunters, G.A.S.P., hightail it into town, and East Tawas is overrun with ghost sightings. Agnes and Eleanor must sort fact from fantasy before another body is found or a curse is realized.

True to his words, Sheriff Clem Peterson sends Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason packing to Florida via a Cessna, but things go haywire when during a fuel stop, two men shoot the pilot. When they land in Florida, they’re asked tough questions by Putner and Palmer from Homeland Security. They keep asking if they found a packet on board the plane, a packet that Agnes has tucked in her purse, but they never mention what’s in the packet. She decides to hold onto it; after all it contains twenty-five thousand in cash. Sheriff Calvin Peterson, Sheriff Clem Peterson’s brother, picks them up from the airport in Florida, but tells them the bad news. His brother Clem made arrangements for them to stay at Sunny Brooke Retirement Village and work as the hired help to pay for their room and board. East Tawas is not only overrun with Bigfoot sightings, but it would seem just about everyone they question claims to have seen something mysterious in the woods. There are plenty of other Tawas residents along for the ride, although the newlyweds don’t realize this until they set out to sea. But the presence of the locals sets the stage for much drama to unfold … For instance, there’s a crime … Agnes and Eleanor find the body of a woman, but wait ... the body disappears before the ship’s security and Captain Hamilton show up. To further complicate matters, there’s a question of whether the woman was even really dead. But none of these details detour Agnes and Eleanor as they hone in on some very goon-like men, Ricky and Leo, to help them get to the bottom of what really happened. Will the women ever be able to figure out what really transpired, or will this be the one case they won't be able to solve?

This time the victim is Malcolm Banktop, the manager of the pop star Kayla White, who is found dead in an elevator. Kayla has a residency at Caesars Palace and is so lost without Malcolm that she hires Agnes and Eleanor to find his killer. Things become complicated when Kayla’s bodyguard Mark is considered a suspect. Sure, Mark might have spent time in prison, but is that reason enough to suspect him of murder? Eleanor and Agnes have their hands full once again amongst the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, which becomes even more outrageous with the sleuths in town as they search for the truth.

Birds of a Feather flock together in Tawas, Michigan, as the Tawas Point Birding Festival comes to town. Agnes and Eleanor are happy to be home again, but are back to their investigative ways after a deadly accident occurs on Plank Road. They’re ready to grab their binoculars and search high and low for the truth about what really happened, even if they’re the only ones who think that a crime has been committed.

Readers soon feel a little cheated when a key page is missing from the book, which spurs Agnes and Eleanor into detective action.Soon they have a cameraman and his assistant following the girls around town recording their every move at the suggestion of movie director Roman Douglas. Hey they might even get their own reality show. If only Agnes didn’t have to investigate from a wheelchair thanks to a sprained ankle.Of course when Sara and some of her Hollywood friends disappear, a missing page from a book become very frivolous. Will Agnes and Eleanor be able to find Sara and her friends before it’s too late?

Aliens have arrived in Tawas, or that’s what Agnes and Eleanor believe. An unidentified flying object plummets to earth and has the sleuths believing a real UFO crashed behind the secured gates of the US Gypsum Company in Alabaster. And the sleuths know that the US Gypsum Company won’t give anyone permission to access the property. But when a body turns up the next day, Eleanor insists it’s a real-deal alien, while Agnes isn’t so quick to jump to that conclusion. The mystery continues as the sleuths are resolved to find the truth after the coroner identifies the remains, and it’s anyone’s guess what the implications might be.

Being in charge of the annual Easter Egg Hunt is challenging enough for Agnes and Eleanor, but even more so when they assist Bernice in finding rabbits for the event. Unfortunately for the sleuths, instead of bunnies, they stumble across a body. The sleuths are hunting for the killer now, but soon it appears the killer is hunting for them too. Can Agnes and Eleanor outsmart the killer or will they become the next victims?

Residents in Tawas are excited about rubbing elbows with golf pros at the upcoming fundraiser. However, when Masters winner, Teddy Vaughn, is found dead on the greens, it's business as usual for Agnes and Eleanor. The sleuths have their hands full now as they hunt for the killer, but it takes a personal turn when their friends Bill and Marjory Hayes are suspects.

Tawas is all abuzz as the eccentric Roland Curry’s art collection will be displayed at the legendary Robinson’s Manor. The same manor where an entire family were murdered in the sixties. The manor’s spooky history is quickly forgotten—until the niece of the artist in question is found dead—and his famous Victorian portrait missing. Speaking of the portrait, the woman captured on canvas was reportedly a resident of Tawas, and her disappearance in 1960 at the age of twenty-two, has remained unsolved. Eleanor and Agnes love history as much as they do juicy stories, but digging into the past has proven difficult, and might be the sleuths undoing when the case heats up.
