Dear Mrs. Pettigrew, I seek an educated woman whom I can hold intelligent conversations with, one skilled in the art of domestics, with a strong demeanor and mind. As an aside, I’m partial to taller women, being tall myself, and would appreciate your expertise and discretion when sifting through candidates in search of my future bride ... Lucien Miller wanted a mail-order bride, and so, turned to the infamous Mrs. Pettigrew for help. Mrs. Pettigrew was glad to oblige. But the bride sent wasn't what Lucien, or the townspeople of Nowhere for that matter, expected. Not exactly, anyway. She was tall, he'd give her that, but she was also, well ... in the words of some of the other men in town, "more woman than they could handle." The question was, could Lucien?
