Description

Detective Sergeant Logan was once a captain in the Royal Marines until the day he hit the wrong man. His reason was right, his timing wasn’t. As the person he’d hit was his superior, Logan resigned before he was court martialed, and he joined the Devon & Cornwall Police. Considering his previous rank and position he is placed on the fast track and a few years later is a Detective Sergeant. Someone is killing beautiful women, no big thing in the way the world has evolved but unusual in the West Country, a place of harmony and tranquillity. His investigation leads him to believe the murderer is perhaps a body-builder and martial artist, but Logan has a problem. A senior female officer is looking into his file and background. Because Logan has another problem; a habit of killing people. He has always excelled at physical sports and endeavours, though without knowing exactly why. He thinks it is because he was born like that. He was, but the reason is his chromosomes. He is a man in a million, an XYYY man. The clues build up as he gets closer to his prey and the final denouement is bloody. He has some friends and colleagues in whom he can confide, but he does not. He confides only in the Chief Inspector he has come close to. She cannot fully understand Logan, but is forming a strong attachment to him, despite the difference in their ranks.
