In this book of The Elopement Project, Lydia and Wickham are foiled before they get too far into their elopement. Now that she is physically safe, what is to be done with Lydia? She can't be trusted in Brighton, she can't hold her tongue at Longbourn, and there are no elderly aunts in far-flung places to send her off to. Mr. Bennet has to figure out how to handle her—one of his least favorite things to do—and Lydia has to face the consequences of her actions for the first time in her life. Meanwhile, Elizabeth is touring Derbyshire and running into certain gentlemen while she's there. Though her guilt and confusion leave her tongue-tied, she tries to make amends with Mr. Darcy. In the third and final installment of The Elopement Project , Elizabeth's adventure in Derbyshire goes differently than planned. Her uncle is called back to London on urgent business and she and her aunt become guests at Pemberley. Mr. Darcy is determined to win her, Miss Bingley is determined to stop it, and Elizabeth is caught between falling in love with a man she never thought she would like and wondering why romance is so complicated for her when it seems so simple for others. Meanwhile, Mr. Gardiner and Mr. Bennet are furiously searching London for Lydia, hoping to find her before she ruins the entire family.
