Description

After the stunning Annabel Lee passes away, a young man reflects on their love story—the passionate love they shared as children and the love that endures even in her absence. While his first books of poetry were released, Edgar Allan Poe was known more for his literary criticism and prose during his lifetime than for his poetry. Poe's poetry, on the other hand, which also deals with mystery and the macabre, has since gained in popularity and is now on par with his well-known stories. Poe's final completed poem, "Annabel Lee," was probably influenced by his wife, Virginia Eliza Clemm Poe.
