They will be made to pay.Meanwhile, a pesky private detective resurfaces, threatening to reveal dark secrets. Breeze devises a plan to take care of the pirates and his nemesis at the same time. He is forced to race against time as a statewide Coronavirus lockdown looms.

The kidnap victim is dear to Breeze, but the ransom demand is not for money. The kidnapper is from deep in the past. He’s back to intrude in the life of Breeze. In order to free the hostage, Chinese nationals must be smuggled into Florida at the peak of a viral pandemic that originated in China. After exhausting all legal avenues to end the reign of the leading drug kingpin in the Florida Keys, Breeze takes the reckless route, deciding to end things on his own terms.

Breeze’s friend and mentor acquires a device that grants him access to the NSA database. Captain Fred hires Breeze to deliver copies of the device, a key of sorts, to his cohorts. Fred gets taken away in handcuffs and Breeze is left holding the last remaining key. The device could be used to win Fred’s freedom, but Breeze is no tech wizard. Computers are not his area of expertise. Meanwhile, someone is tracking him as he tries to figure things out. Possessing the key makes him a target.

Breeze is trying to keep a low-profile, hiding out at Pirate’s Cove Marina near Nags Head. When he discovers a sex-trafficking operation being run out of a large yacht, he’s hesitant to get involved. He can’t do anything that will divulge his location. Eventually, his conscience forces him to act. That decision sets off a string of calamities and creates a trail of dead bodies in his wake. It also adds another name to the list of those who would like to see him dead.

A string of misfortune begins when Captain Fred asks Breeze and Marie to leave his marina. There has been trouble close to him, thanks to Breeze. The couple departs on friendly terms and takes refuge in Pelican Bay. Soon enough, Fred needs a favor. He asks for his yacht to be delivered from Fort Myers Beach to Nags Head. The neglected vessel suffers one breakdown after another. Upon arrival after a long and arduous journey, they are promptly fired upon. They make a narrow escape, leaving Fred’s boat in Wanchese. Subplots abound including a wedding for Breeze and Marie and an unexpected trip to Mar-a-Lago to meet with the President. Once these distractions are put aside, a scheme is launched to draw out the hunters and finish the cat and mouse game once and for all. It almost goes according to plan.
