The moment Polly relaxed because things felt normal, she knew it was a mistake. Henry offered to take her away that very night. If only. Raising kids isn't easy. Raising kids that experienced trauma in the past? Difficult. Raising a kid who won't talk about any of it? Frustrating. Caleb, now in seventh grade, has gotten caught up with a group of kids out to cause trouble. He's become sullen and angry, stubborn and aggressive. Reports of vandalism around town are filtering in. Polly fears those same kids are the perpetrators. It isn't only Caleb. Her friends are also trying to figure out what's happening with their children. Problems are bubbling over at school because an older student there is preying on children's fears and lack of confidence. Who? Why? What's the end game? The trouble has to be bigger than seventh-grade angst. That would be enough for most people, but not Polly. Not only has she found a dead body, but she and Henry are considering an exciting venture with Sal and Mark Ogden. Rebecca's roommate experiences a horrific crisis and the new sheriff's deputy is asking odd questions. What is he up to? Henry's business is surging. It's short-term, but his long hours make everything more difficult at home. Polly 's guilt over taking so long to realize that Caleb was falling apart weighs on her. This will require more coffee.
