Cover for The Hermit's Last Wish and Other Stories

Here are five short stories in the vein of Brothers Grimm. (12,500 words; 50 pages). The title story is a sinister tale of a mysterious hermit living alone on a mountain. What was his past in the town that had forgotten him? "Bird of Summer, Bird of Winter" is a haunting tale about depression and the colorless world it inflicts. "Stamp of Guilt" has been described as a 'Norman Rockwell painting with a dagger ending from Edgar Allen Poe." It involves a young boy's only trip to his grandfather and a gift that shreds the boy's conscience. "The Afghan" is a magical realism piece that blends time and faded memories--what is real, what is not? "You Can't Help What you Think" is a classical voyeur tale with a twist. Life becomes a trap that is also a release.

Cover for 44 Collected Stories of David H Fears

44 of David H. Fears' best short stories (written under the pen name of DH Henry) were culled for inclusion here, including revisions not before published. We believe there is something for everyone here in this diverse and stimulating collection by an extraordinary storyteller—from magical realism, romance, mystery, literary, fantasy, history, humor, and suspense (adult themes). We have assembled here about 160,000 words, longer than many epic novels, and twice as long as a normal length novel. Though ebooks may be viewed in various font sizes and thus do not normally carry page numbers, this collection amounts to about 588 normal sized pages. We hope you enjoy these stories as much as we have. A few have been published here and there but most are making their debut in this collection.
